2017 is shaping up to be a big year with destination cruises. If you’re looking to explore a new part of the world, below is a list of new and trending cruises for cruising in 2017.
Australia & New Zealand
Most people wouldn’t consider cruising in their own backyard. However, both Australia and New Zealand, with their beautiful scenery and friendly people, are perfect cruise destinations. Australian cruises call into Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Cairns, each offering a fresh blend of city life and beachside living. While cruising to New Zealand might see you visit the picturesque locations of Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland.
Sail down India’s Ganges River through the “Golden Triangle” of stunning Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. At the same time, learn about India’s culture as you journey from the Taj Mahal and Humayum’s Tomb to pristine gardens and busy markets. Sightseeing highlights include the former home of Mother Teresa in Kolkata, the massive Vedic Temple, and the Rajbari Temple Complex of Kalna. Additionally, you’ll have the unique opportunity to travel to small villages and learn about local life.
If you need a warmer climate, Cuba is probably the destination for you. Experience the nation’s distinctive charms before it becomes too much of a bustling tourist destination. While sailing to cities like Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba, you’ll be able to experience multiple aspects of Cuban life, including art, music, cuisine and education. The goal of the new Cuban itineraries is to provide a fully immersive experience in the local culture.

P&O already offer special event cruises that can’t be found anywhere else. New in 2017, they will also host a State of Origin cruise from NSW to Brisbane. The Cruise includes seven nights of footy themed entertainment and fun. There will be Q&A sessions, photo ops and footy challenges with rugby league legends throughout the cruise. Followed by a star-studded, panel-style post game wrap session on the way home.
Disney is more then a cruise line, but a world renowned brand that thrives on creating memorable experiences. In 2017, Disney Cruises will be adding new itineraries and new ports, including stops in Alaska and Europe. Disney Fantasy itineraries will also include the new destination, the Southern Caribbean, with a stop at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. From the moment you board a Disney Cruise, you are whisked away into a magical wonderland.
In addition to new ports, Princess Cruises have added a new ship to their fleet for 2017, the Majestic Princess.
