The 2018 Formula One is more than just a race. It’s an experience.

The FIA Formula One World Championships are about so more than just car racing. This epic extravaganza weaves its way through 21 countries over more than nine months, and features stunning panoramas, a super-charged atmosphere and, of course, the best-of-the-best in terms of racing royalty. Here you can rub shoulders with the glamorous and the wealthy, experience the cultures and cuisines of some of the world’s most beautiful cities, and soak up the fume-fuelled frenzy that sums up this premier street circuit event.

Formula One racing has its roots in the European Grand Prix championships of the 1920’s and 30’s and is currently the highest class of single-seat auto racing sanctioned by the FIA. The FIA Formula One World Championships have been the premier form of racing since the inaugural season in 1950, and the season consists of a series of races known as Grand Prix held worldwide on purpose-built F1 circuits.

With seven world titles, Michael Schumacher has statistically been the greatest Grand Prix driver of all time, however, more recently, Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and even our own Sir Jack Brabham have all graced the heralded walls of the event’s unofficial Hall of Fame. With many of next year’s drivers still to be contracted, die-hard fans will be thrilled to know that Australian Daniel Ricciardo is a certainty to gear-up for a stint with the Red Bull Racing team.

Formula One cars are the fastest road course racing cars in the world, can reach up to 375 kilometres an hour at top speed and are capable of a lateral acceleration of over five G’s around corners (that’s G-Force for the novices and that’s super-fast!)

And while Europe is its traditional base, the sport’s scope has expanded significantly and an increasing number of Grands Prix are held at a variety of other must-see destinations across the globe.  International cuisine, diverse cultural experiences and the turbo-fuelled excitement of one of the world’s most famous sporting events … what more could you want from a holiday?

2018 Event

Along the way, the event traverses 21 countries including Spain, Monaco, France, Britain, Germany, Russia, Singapore, Japan, the US and Brazil, and features world-renowned teams including Scuderia Ferrai, Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport and the McLaren Honda Formula 1 team.
