Virtuoso®, the travel industry’s leading international luxury agency network, celebrated its 30th anniversary in Las Vegas this week. In true Virtuoso fashion, the event turned out to be a phenomenal week, filled with amazing keynote speakers, awards, and of course, parties!

Virtuoso took its annual marquee event, “Virtuoso Travel Week”, and blew it up to epic proportions, spread across three beautiful Las Vegas resorts, including the Bellagio, ARIA and the Vdara Hotel. The event attracted a record breaking 5,257 attendees from 98 countries, an increase from last years attendance by nine percent!

To put some perspective on just how much activity was crammed into this hectic week, over 320,000 meetings took place, most of them one on one. This clocked up more than 1.5 million meeting minutes or the equivalent of 2.9 years. That’s a lot of meetings!

Although a fun time for everyone, the event did have a solemn goal at its heart, and that was to build relationships that lead to better traveler experiences.

During the event’s Opening Ceremony, Virtuoso Chairman and CEO Matthew D. Upchurch recalled his philosophy that led to the creation of Virtuoso: a firm belief that travel agencies and suppliers need each other to be successful. This core value of solidarity is one which Virtuoso emulates through its constant work in facilitating and creating tools and services that support many domains across the travel industry.

In addition to its focus on networking, Virtuoso also took the opportunity to honour some of the standout performers within its network of 391 travel agencies with 743 offices throughout 40 countries, and their 11,400 travel advisors. David Kolner, Virtuoso’s senior vice president of Global Member Partnerships, had the pleasure of announcing the winners of Virtuoso’s key production awards. The winners of these prestigious award included:
